Silk World: Yercaud has a ‘Silk World’, a Seri-tourism centre where you can see how silk is obtained and spun into splendour. This institution serves as a Novitiate House where students of the Religious Order stay and study. The Retreat : It was started in 1945 by the Brothers of Don Bosco. The Montfort School for boys & girls and the Sacred Heart Convent for girls are two famous institutions, with alumni who are the who’s who in society. In the month of May, this temple plays host to colourful tribes who gather to pay respects to their Lord, Servaroyan and Goddess Kaveri. The Servaroyan Temple: The Servaroyan temple on top of the Servaroyan hill is a narrow cave temple that also offers a spectacular view of the valley below. Come a little further for a glimpse of bison, deer, hares, and foxes…oh and watch out for a flash of the spectacular Indian Bird of Paradise. Kiliyur Falls: A little trek into the woods will take you to the lovely Killiyur Falls that plunge into a 3000 feet ravine. It’s a 5 km trek out here, should you choose to move your muscles. Pagoda Point: Admire the handiwork of local tribesmen who have sculpted four piles of rock to impersonate a pyramid. And if you’re inclined to admire the panoramic view from a little closer, there’s a telescope mounted at the watch tower to take you as close can be. Lady’s seat: Take a vantage point as you catch your breath with the twinkling stars above and twinkling lights below at the Lady’s seat at dawn or dusk. Here the annual summer flower show attracts people, like a flowers do to honeybees.
